Engineering v. Math

I was too tired last night to post about my night classes. Engineering Drawing went pretty good. Deanna seems really nice and I was ahead of the rest of the class because I knew what most the tools were already. I think I'll do fine overall, but hey you can't tell much from only one class. I do have to start designing a 3 bedroom house though because the floor plans for it is our final project. CAD went pretty good. Kyser looks a little different than I remembered. I did well in the oral review and knew what "snap" was so I felt special :P...hehe. I know, it's not that big of a deal, but still it felt nice to be making good progress already.
Today's classes....well, they weren't so pretty.
Basically I'm confused. See, my trig teacher said "never leave it as a fraction, always make it decimal" then in the next hour my algebra teacher said "never convert it to a decimal, leave it as a fraction. We are not engineers, we are mathematicians. Say it with me 'we are not engineers'..."...and I'm staring at her going "uh........" and everyone looked at me b/c I was wearing a UMR shirt. I came up to the board to work this problem and she's like 'see, she's doing it the engineer way..making it too hard. Avoid that, make it easy'" and I'm like "what the fuck?"
Oh, my trig teacher decided since we dont have class monday to give us double the homework and she's like "oh the next section is easy I wont go over that" and I turned to look at it and it's like the hardest thing I've seen...and I asked for help like 3 times and she kept saying "no no you DO know this stuff, just do it, you'll see" :|
I was telling Dad how I'm confused and he basically insulted me. "That's all we need, go ahead and flunk out in the first week" I'm like, "Dad, I'm trying, I'll get a tutor"...damned man. Just because right now I don't fully understand the whole degree/minute/seconds thing and doing addition/subtraction with them and converting them from decimals/degrees.

So, in conclusion....

I have a headache.
