Me

THIS IS ME

I may have been lost,
but now I am found.
Hello me.
I missed you.
Did you miss me?

Who are you?

What do you want?

I am her.
her?
She is me.
I don't get it, please explain.

Do you see her?
The girl
Sitting there
Do you see her?
The one with the dark hair in pony tails?
Yes, that's her
She looks sad
She thinks she is.
Why is she alone?
She doesn't belong.
She's a little girl, how does she not belong?
She realizes she's different.
She sees it so soon.
What's different about her?
Why isn't she playing?
She can't
She has to sit on the sidelines.
She's not allowed to have p.e.
I don't understand.
She's a little girl.
Look at her
She's all alone

I see her
She feels your pain
Her heart doctor said no
No, she can't play

See that little girl?
The one sitting there?
Reading that book?

Yes, that's her.
She couldn't play with the others, so she read instead.
But she looks so sad.
She's not
See that book?
That's what she's about
She reads
While other kids are running about, she can't
She reads instead
She studies a lot.

See that girl?
Here in church?
Yes, that's her
Her faith is what she has
That's what kept her strong.
It never failed her
Without it, she'd feel wrong.

See that girl?
She's crying.
What's wrong?

She has her first broken heart
She had loved him so.
He hit her
He used her
Yet, she still loved him though

See that girl?
She looks happy.
She won another poetry contest
Her writing is what she has

See that girl?
in the wheelchair?
She hurt her foot
She played too rough
Is she ok?
Yes
But now she knows why they say 'life is rough'

See that girl?
Who's grave is she standing over?
Her Grandpa's
She loved him dear
She felt he was the only one that loved her
She cherished him
He was the man in her life
Who her father can never be
That man loved her
He was proud of her
He's the only man that ever made her feel that
Not even her Dad?
Especially not

See that girl?
the editor?
Yes
Finally something to make her Dad proud
Better yet
Something she loves
Did she tell him?
She can't
He'd just yell
See it doesn't matter what she wants
Or even what she needs
Her Dad just cares about his stupid book
He wants her to drop her life to type it
He doesn't care if she gets an education
As long as she finishes his stupid book

See that girl?
All the girls are the same
Yes they are
They are her at a different stage
The events that helped shape her
They made her who she is today

Who is she?
Who is the girl?

Simple,

She's me
